Washington State Target Championship Rules and Regulations
The Washington State Outdoor Championship and PNW Open are following the rules and format as outlined below.

General Rules
Membership:
Participants must be a current member of USA Archery. Participants must agree to the WCW waiver to shoot at the venue.
Washington Residency:
Participants who are residents of Washington State will compete for state titles and can achieve state records.
Guest Division:
Participants who are not residents of the state of Washington will shoot in a guest division with separate medals.

U13
Through the calendar year of your 12th birthday.
U15
Through the calendar year of your 14th birthday.
U18
Through the calendar year of your 17th birthday.
U21
Through the calendar year of their 20th birthday.
Seniors
Participants may compete as a senior at any age they wish.
Para Division
Offered in Recurve and Compound for Senior age class.
50+
Participants may compete as a master when the competition takes place in the year of their 50th birthday and thereafter.

Arrows
9.1.7. Arrows
Arrows of any type may be used provided they comply with the common meaning of the word “arrow” as used in target archery and do not cause undue damage to target faces or butts.
- An arrow consists of a shaft with a tip (point), nock, fletching, and, if desired, cresting.
- The maximum diameter of arrow shafts will not exceed 9.3 mm. Arrow wraps will not be considered as part of this limitation, but will not extend further than 22 cm toward the arrow point when measured from the nock groove where the bowstring sits to the end of the wrap.
- The tips/points of the arrows will not exceed 9.4 mm in diameter.
- All arrows of every athlete will be marked with the athlete’s name or initials on the shaft or the arrow wrap.
- All arrows used in any end will be identical in appearance and will carry the same pattern and colour(s) of fletching, nocks and cresting, if any.
- Tracer nocks (electrically/electronically lighted nocks) are not allowed.

Qualification Rounds
- 72 arrows total
- 6 arrow ends
- 4 minutes per end
Swiss Bracket (PNW Open)
The top 64 archers in each category will qualify for the Swiss Bracket match-play.
- Archers shoot 3 arrows per end.
- 2 minutes per end.
- Recurve/Barebow – first to 6 set points wins.
- Compound/Fixed Pins – 5 ends. Archer with the highest cumulative score wins.
- Divisions will be determined based on registrations.
- Number of rounds will be determined by number of participants following close of registration.
- Archers will be seeded based on WA Target Championship qualification scores.
- Archers will be paired with opponents per round based on Swiss rankings including tie-breakers.
Bracket Ranking:
- Archers will be primarily ranked by their win-loss record.
- Archers tied in win-loss record will be ranked by their record against the opponents with the same win-loss record.
- Archers tied in both absolute and relative win-loss record will be ranked by their opponents’ sum-total win-loss records.
- Archers tied in win-loss records and opponents’ win-loss records will be ranked by their cumulative match scores.
- Archers still tied will be ranked by their qualification scores, followed by X count, followed by 10 count for the purpose of determining gold-medal match participants.
Individual Finals:
- The top two archers in the Barebow, Compound & Recurve Senior divisions will participate in a gold medal match.
- Archers will alternate shooting with a 20 second shot clock.
