Join Our Next Step Archery Team
The Next Step Archery (NSA) Team is a dedicated group of archers committed to training, competition, and personal growth in the sport of archery. Whether athletes are aiming for local, state, national, or international success, the team provides structured coaching, personalized training plans, and a supportive community to help each archer reach their full potential. With access to top-tier coaching, resources, and competitive opportunities, NSA Team members develop both their technical skills and mental game to excel on and off the range.
Next Step Archery Team Practice Schedule
INDOOR SEASON
NSA Team members train together every Monday night, with dedicated practice sessions designed to build skill, consistency, and confidence. During Indoor Season, we practice at The Nock Point Range, where space is limited. To ensure a productive training environment, the first lines shoots from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by the second line shoots from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
OUTDOOR SEASON
During Outdoor Season, we train at WCW Shooting Sports on the archery ranges. There are 2 main fields that our team will be using, the flat FITA range, and the range behind the Chalet. Please note that there will be gunfire from the adjacent firearm ranges during practice. NSA rents the archery field for the entire day, but official team practice runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Non-WCW members must exit the field by 7:00 PM, while WCW members with Special Access and a key may stay until 8:00 PM.
Other WCW Members may be shooting at the same time that we are on the field, so please be aware of your surroundings.
Junior Team
After completing the A101 and A102 (the Intermediate Class), participating in JOAD, or at the coach’s discretion from private lessons, archers can apply to join the Next Step Archery Junior Team. This team is designed for dedicated athletes ages 8 to 20 who are ready to take their training to the next level.
Junior Team members represent NSA in local, state, national, and even international competitions while continuing to develop their skills through structured coaching, team training, and competition-focused preparation.
Practices are held on Monday nights at The Nock Point Range during Indoor Season (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) and at WCW Shooting Sports during Outdoor Season (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with non-WCW members leaving by 7:00 PM).
Applications are available for download, and space is limited based on available coaching staff. If you’re committed to growing as an archer and competing at a high level, the NSA Junior Team is the next step in your journey!
Adult Team
After completing A101 and A102 (the Intermediate Class), participating in AAP, or at the coach’s discretion from private lessons, archers can apply to join the Next Step Archery Adult Team. This team is designed for dedicated athletes ages 21 and older who are committed to advancing their skills and competing at a high level.
Adult Team members represent NSA in local, state, national, and even international competitions while continuing to refine their technique, mental game, and overall archery education through structured coaching and team training.
Practices are held on Monday nights at The Nock Point Range during Indoor Season (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM) and at WCW Shooting Sports during Outdoor Season (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with non-WCW members leaving by 7:00 PM).

NSA Team Selection Process
Archers interested in joining the NSA Junior or Adult Team they must complete the application
- Priority for team spaces will be given to those who have successfully completed the NSA courses, JOAD, AAP or possess equivalent experience
- Junior Team: A Blue Pin (achieved a minimum of 3 times) or a recommendation form an NSA coach is required
- Adult Team: A Black Pin (achieved a minimum of 3 times) or a recommendation form an NSA coach is required
- Show a filled in practice journal and arrow count tracking
- Archers must demonstrate dedication and a desire to improve in the sport, which includes participating in tournaments at local, state, regional, national, and international levels.
NSA Team Requirements & Expectations
- Participate in Team Night, the weekly two-hour training sessions.
- Keep a practice journal that includes at a minimum, the date, number of arrows shot, focus of the day, and reflections. This will be checked regularly by your coach.
- Shoot a minimum of 400 arrows a week.
- Compete in 3 to 5 competitions each calendar year.
- One of these Requirements is USA Archery Indoor Nationals
- Be Prepared: arrive 15 minutes early to practice and to competitions to allow for ample time to setup and acclimate to the environment
- Agree not to receive coaching or instruction from other individuals not affiliated with NSA unless approved on writing by the Head Coaches
- Wear team jerseys at competitions and on award days, which is typically the last shooting day
- Maintain a level of fitness and competitive readiness to perform at the maximum of your ability
